Abstract
As India tries to reduce its dependence on conventional energy and mitigate climate change, the role of renewable energy has become increasingly prominent. The Government of India aims to incentivize the use of clean energy, create a competitive domestic production base for renewables, and double the existing renewable energy capacity to 55,000 MW by 2017 (MNRE, 2012a).
